Fantastic Fest launches game showcase for horror game devs

This year's Fantastic Fest film festival in Austin, TX will feature a showcase for horror video games.Fittingly titled "Fantastic Games," the event is a collaboration with Day of the Devs and will run from September 20 to September 22. 12 games will be present, some of which may be publicly playable for the first time.Per Fangoria, sponsors include Double Fine, Devolver, and Blumhouse Games. The latter launched last year and earlier this summer revealed its first wave of games from indie studios like Perfect Garbage and Half Mermaid.Fantastic Games marks another new showcase for Devs, which teamed with the Game Awards last year for an indie-focused event. It also comes months after the festival went independent.

Sega takes legal action against individual accused of harassing employee

Sega has revealed it sued and won a case against a serial harasser of one of its staff, and intends to do the same on behalf of all employees.The developer said the unnamed individual had conducted "slander and extreme acts of harassment" on social media toward the employee, prompting legal intervention as the situation escalated.With the court's permission, the company obtained the harasser's personal information and sought damages on the victim's behalf. EVE Online makers eyeing open source and blockchain tech for longevity

CCP Games CEO Hilmar Veigar Pétursson recently spoke with GamesIndustry at length about the studio's future, which will include making EVE Online's Carbon Development Platform into an open-source property.Elements of the CDP will feature blockchain technology.
